Sun Peaks Resort

Striking a delicate balance between natural setting and convenient amenities, Sun Peaks Resort is B.C.'s second largest ski area and offers incredible access to downhill skiing, snowboarding and Nordic skiing in winter, and hiking, golfing and mountain biking in summer. Sun Peaks also caters to foodies with a great selection of restaurants, and annual food and wine festivals.

About This Project

Sun Peaks ski resort is interior British Columbia's largest destination ski resort. Guests enjoy award-winning downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross countryskiing in the winter. Summer activities include hiking, golfing and downhill mountain biking. Sun Peaks ski resort's European-style village is nestled at the base of three mountains; Tod Mountain, Sundance and Mt. Morrisey. The ski resort village offers a wide selection of accommodations, restaurants and shopping boutiques to suit a variety of tastes.

Protected from the mild, coastal weather by the Coast Mountains, Sun Peaks receives on average nearly 6 metres of Interior BC's famous light, dry, 'east-to-ski' powder. Come summer, this equation results in predominantly warm bluebird days typical of the region, with slightly milder temperatures thanks to our elevated location in the Shuswap Highlands.

During the winter months, visitors of the resort enjoy: 11 lifts total including 3 high speed quad charlifts, 2 quad chairlifts, 1 triple chairlift, and 5 surface lifts; 2 alpine bowls; a terrain park; and 125 trails including 13 gladed areas. Additionally, guests of all ages are welcomed to experience that activities provided through the Sports Centre, the canine power behind a

dog sled tour, snowmobile tours, or even an end-of-day mid mountain fondue among one of the retail restaurants.

Conversely, during the hot summer months, Sun Peaks Resort offers: 16 hiking trail; a bike park which includes 35 trails; a golf course; a bungee trampoline; canoe and kayak rentals; fly fishing; and much more!

Sun Peaks Resort continues to form a strong economic base for the community, and employs a significant number of members throughout. Sun Peaks Municipality was built through the many tourism opportunities provided by the mountain, and the ongoing development of the resort itself.
