Village of Chase Water Treatment Plant Project

The Village of Chase Water Treatment and Supply Upgrade project will provide a new 10 ML/d water treatment plant to treat raw water from the South Thompson River and the local groundwater aquifer.

About This Project

The Village of Chase is currently in the process of constructing a water treatment plant that will house a membrane filtration system and Ultra violet disinfection system. Two sources of water (ground and surface) will be drawn to provide water to the Chase water users. It is anticipated that the system can generate 5.4 mega litres per day, which will allow for future expansion of the Village’s residential, commercial and industrial bases.

Funding for the project has been provided by the Build Canada Fund (federal and provincial governments) and Village tax funds and user fees.

The structure consists of a concrete substructure, architectural components, instrumentation, heating and cooling systems and other mechanical systems. Treated water will meet all current Interior Health drinking water standards and will be some of the best quality water in the area. It is anticipated that this project will be completed in the spring of 2014.
