Invest in Black Pines

British Columbia, Canada

Black Pines is a rural area of hobby farms, small acreages and ranches on the west side of the North Thompson River, 30 kilometres north of the TNRD's largest city centre, Kamloops.

Black Pines was the site of an early cattle ranch owned by Alex McLean from 1892 to 1919 . Just to the north is Whispering Pines, population 48, a village founded in 1972 by a group of Secwepemc (Shuswap) people who moved from the Clinton area.

With the number of hobby farms and ranches in the Black Pines area, it is not surprising that the local economy is heavily reliant on agriculture. Given the close proximity to the region's largest city centre, many residents in the Black Pines area commute daily for full-time employment.
