Invest in Barriere Lakes

British Columbia, Canada

The Barriere Lakes (North, South, and East) are all located about 40 kilometres northeast of the District of Barriere, and 16 kilometres west of Highway 5 on Barriere Lake Road. The Barriere Lakes area is approximately 75 kilometres north of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District's (TNRD) largest city centre, Kamloops.

The Barriere Lakes include provincially designated camping and trails, with tourists visiting the area for some of the best trout fishing in the province. Additionally, the North Barriere Lake Resort provides accommodation and access to hiking trails, swimming and boating, fishing and an array of other events hosted by the Resort.

The Barriere Lakes region is largely driven by the forest industry with Gilbert Smith Forest Products Ltd. operating a local sawmill operation in the area. However, other industries such as tourism and agriculture play a vital role in the local economy.
